FAQs
-
We work with individuals, couples, families, and organizations navigating life transitions, stress, or disruption. You don’t need to be in crisis or have experienced trauma to seek support.
-
Our services are best for those who feel stuck navigating emotional, practical, or relational challenges, and want support beyond traditional therapy or coaching.
-
We’re based in Edmonds, WA, just north of Seattle.
Most services happen in our office, but all of our providers offer virtual appointments. Our practical resourcing team offers in-home sessions (see À La Carte and Pricing pages for info). Some groups and events take place in our local community. If you are seeking insurance reimbursement for psychotherapy or physical therapy, you must reside in Washington state.
-
Yes. A major pillar of services we offer is practical help: with food/nutrition, resourcing, household systems, and finances.
-
Most sessions are 50–60 minutes, but some assessments or dual-provider sessions may run longer.
-
We specialize in dual-provider support and comprehensive plans (see our 6-week Collaborative Package) for clients needing emotional, practical, and relational support simultaneously.

-
We prioritize autonomy, collaboration, and psychological safety. Our team communicates regularly to provide coordinated care across emotional, practical, and physical needs. We also offer recommendations outside our organization if that’s what best serves you.
-
Yes. We have providers (and relationships without outside partners) that specialize in adolescent care.
-
We are a private pay, out-of-network practice to focus on clarity, flexibility, and individualized care—not insurance constraints. This approach allows us to:
Ensure all our providers are compensated fairly for their expertise and time.
Avoid insurance bureaucracy, so we can focus on your care.
Choose the right provider for you, not just who’s in-network.
Maintain privacy—no diagnoses or session notes sent to insurance.
Move at your pace and adjust services based on your needs.
Provide consistent care even if your insurance or job changes.
-
Some clients may receive partial reimbursement through out-of-network benefits for psychotherapy and physical therapy only. We provide superbills so you can submit claims to your insurance provider. Limited sliding scale spots are available for financial need.
-
No. Scholarships and insurance claims are separate.
-
The Aftermath Charitable Fund exists to make care more accessible to people who face financial barriers. This is made possible through a fiscal sponsorship partnership with Holon Institute, supporting partial scholarships, community programs, and other initiatives aligned with our mission: helping anyone in need of support, regardless of their ability to pay.
-
All information shared with us is confidential. We maintain strict privacy standards and do not share personal information outside of care without your consent.
-
We are not a crisis service. If you are in danger or facing a life-threatening situation, call 911.
