Working Together
What to Expect
At The Aftermath Agency, we believe healing and support look different for every person. Whether you're coming for therapy, resource navigation, physical wellness, grief support, or another service, our goal is to provide care that is compassionate, practical, and tailored to your unique situation.
This page outlines what you can expect regarding communication, scheduling, payments, and other important information.
Communication
We want to give our full attention to the people we're meeting with each day. Because of this, responses to messages may not be immediate.
Email and Text
Best for scheduling, paperwork, or other administrative questions. We are unable to provide therapy, clinical guidance, or crisis support through email or text.
Phone
Primarily used for scheduling and administrative needs. If you are experiencing an emergency or need immediate support, please use the crisis resources below.
If You Need Immediate Help
The Aftermath Agency is not a crisis or emergency service and does not provide 24-hour or on-call support.
If you are experiencing a medical emergency or believe you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911.

Payment & Insurance
Most services at The Aftermath Agency are provided on a private-pay basis. This allows our practitioners the freedom to focus on your needs rather than insurance requirements.
Payment is automatically processed within 24 hours after your appointment unless other arrangements have been made.
Scholarships
Because we believe quality care should be accessible, a limited number of scholarship and reduced-fee opportunities may be available through our charitable fund or participating practitioners. Please let us know if cost is a barrier, and we'll discuss available options.
Out-of-Network Benefits
Many insurance plans reimburse a portion of services received from out-of-network providers. If applicable, we can provide a superbill for you to submit directly to your insurance company. Some clients also use services such as Reimbursify to simplify reimbursement.
Before beginning services, you may wish to ask your insurance provider:
- Do I have out-of-network benefits?
- Are telehealth appointments covered?
- What percentage is reimbursed after my deductible?
- Which CPT codes are covered?
Why Some Clients Choose Private Pay
Private-pay care allows for:
- Greater privacy, with no diagnoses or treatment notes shared with insurance companies
- Freedom to choose the provider who is the best fit
- Flexible treatment based on your needs rather than insurance limitations
- Continuity of care, even if your insurance or employment changes
Before Your First Appointment
Before we meet, we'll ask you to:
- Complete your intake and consent forms
- Share basic information about yourself and your goals
- Provide payment information if applicable
This allows us to spend more of our first meeting focused on you.
Scheduling & Cancellations
Your appointment time is reserved specifically for you.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 48 hours' notice by phone, email, or text whenever possible. Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice, or missed appointments, may be charged the full session fee.
If you have a recurring appointment, repeated late cancellations or no-shows may result in losing your reserved appointment time. We understand that illness and unexpected emergencies happen and review those situations with care and understanding.
In-Person Appointments
If you're feeling ill or have symptoms of a contagious illness, please let us know before your appointment. Whenever possible, we'll help transition your visit to telehealth or reschedule when appropriate.
Additional Services
Some services outside of scheduled appointments, such as letters, forms, reports, record reviews, or consultation with other professionals, may involve additional fees.
Whenever possible, we'll discuss any charges with you before completing the work. You also have the right to request a Good Faith Estimate of anticipated healthcare costs before services begin.
Finding the Right Fit
One of the things that makes The Aftermath Agency different is that we're committed to helping people find the support they actually need.
If we believe another provider, specialty, or community resource would better serve your situation, we'll gladly help connect you with trusted professionals and organizations whenever possible. Sometimes the best care means helping you find the right next step — even if it's outside our practice.
Social Media & Privacy
To protect your privacy and maintain professional boundaries:
- We do not accept friend or follow requests from clients on personal or professional social media accounts.
- Social media is used for education, community updates, and events — not for providing care or discussing personal concerns.
- Please contact us directly by phone, email, or your secure client portal if you need assistance.
Thank you for trusting The Aftermath Agency.
We recognize that reaching out for support can feel overwhelming. Our hope is that you'll experience care that is thoughtful, collaborative, and centered on what matters most to you. Whether we provide that care directly or help connect you with the right resources, we're honored to be part of your journey.
